³Ô¹ÏÁÔÆæ Hosts 2019 Via Summer Sessions for Incoming First-Year Students

Date:05/17/2019

Are you ready to start your journey at ³Ô¹ÏÁÔÆæ (³Ô¹ÏÁÔÆæ)? The first step to becoming an ³Ô¹ÏÁÔÆæ first-year student is to fully immerse yourself in ³Ô¹ÏÁÔÆæ culture through one of our "" sessions! Via is a mandatory summer orientation program offered for incoming ³Ô¹ÏÁÔÆæ students.

What is Via? Via (formerly known as FOCUS) is an orientation program to provide you with essential resources and information to prepare first-year students to make the transition to college. At Via, attendees will receive information about their first-semester classes and meet lots of other people while having a great experience and spending the night on the ³Ô¹ÏÁÔÆæ campus. Attendees will also be introduced to ³Ô¹ÏÁÔÆæ's Catholic, Mercy heritage and to campus resources and support services -- people and areas that will enrich the ³Ô¹ÏÁÔÆæ experience.

Via is not just for students; parents and guardians are highly encouraged to participate as well. Parent Orientation, which takes place on Day 1 of each Via session, will familiarize parents and guardians with key aspects of academic and student life at ³Ô¹ÏÁÔÆæ. Highlights include information on academic expectations, student housing and financial aid. Participants also have the opportunity to meet with University leaders, ask questions of current students, faculty and staff, meet other parents and learn more about the University's rich Catholic, Mercy heritage and mission. Parent Orientation at Via 2 (June 23) and 4 (July 9) will include sessions in Spanish.

Via is immensely beneficial for all incoming first-year students. There is no better way to experience all that ³Ô¹ÏÁÔÆæ has to offer than experiencing it firsthand.
